RIFLE. Cal. 44 (44-77 Sharps). S#. C,53796. Bbl. 30" round. Fixed front with Lawrence patent rear sight. Blue finish with case colored action. Checkered plain trigger. 3 band forend with straight grip walnut stock having sling swivels and steel military style buttplate. The buttplate has added coarse checkering on the upper portion of the face. Approx. 1769 military model 1874 rifles were produced from 1871-1881, many were used by march shooters. CONDITION: bbl. retains over 90% original blue. The action has largely faded to gray some traces of faded case colors. Stock have added finish over scratches & marks. Sound action.
